Downloading and Sharing Graphs
Once you have a graph, you probably want to download it or allow others to view it. This is all done through the graph tab.
Downloading Graphs
To download a graph, simply click on one of the links to the right of 'Download as:'. (Currently, the only one is the '.png' link). Your web-browser will take care of the rest.
The file name that your downloaded graph will be given is shown underneath the link. In this case, it's 'plotomatic_graph_121.png'.
Sharing Graphs
Turning Sharing on
Sharing a graph puts a copy of your graph on Plot-O-Matic's servers, and allows you to link to it in e-mails, blog posts or on your own web-pages.
To share a graph, check the 'share this graph' check box and then click on the 'Save Data and Update Graph' button. This will make the graph available, and show a link to the graph.
Why is the link name so complicated?
The part of the graph link that looks like a random string of characters (something like b498a88421a1821), is your graph's code. This is a random code that allows you to share your graph with the people you want to see it while keeping it secret from everyone else. This code is different for every graph on Plot-O-Matic.
Linking to the Graph
If you click on the link, you'll be taken to a web-page showing just the graph. You can copy the address in your browser's address bar to link to the graph. For example, to include the graph in a web-page, you would write something like:
<img src='http://www.plotomatic.com/graphs/graph_121_b498a88421a1821.png'>
Some forum software wants your links to look like this:

Updating the Shared Graph
A shared graph is not updated automatically when you change the graph. To update the shared version, click on the 'update shared graph' link on the graph tab.
A plea from my overheated webserver
If you're going to be linking to the graph on a high traffic site, then please let me know first at scott@plotomatic.com!
