Error Bars
The Error Bars Tab
You can add error bars for the x-axis or y-axis. There are three types of error bars you can add: absolute, relative and variable
- Use absolute error bars if the error is the same for each point on the line
- Use relative error bars if the error is proportional to the value of the data. The value is entered as a percentage. I.e., if the relative error is 20%, type 20 in the box.
- Use variable errors if the error varies from point to point. For variable errors, you select the data columns that contain the positive and negative error values. If the positive and negative errors are the same, just select the same column for both.
